It is so easy to tell other people what to do but words are cheap when it doesn't translate into action. The Word of God teaches us that faith without works is dead. "Do as I say but not as I do " should not come out of a leader's mouth.
Apostle Paul exemplified leadership. He was a mentor to many people one of whom was Timothy. His leadership style was to teach by the word and lead by example. His life was the practical example of his teachings.
A leader who is afraid to have his life as an open book has something to hide. Some secular leaders say their private life is private; yea, somethings in their life has to be kept 'private and confidential ' because to make it open will become a scandal!
If there is any part of your life that people must not know, it casts a shadow on the brightness of your light. A light that does not illuminate brightly can not provide light for others. A salt that has lost it's taste is only worth throwing out and being trampled under the feet.
Is your life an open book or there are sections marked, "do not open?" Nothing remains hidden forever. As a leader, let your character in the public be the same in private. A leader who leads God's way has nothing to hide.
